Declutter your closets for a good cause. Help international undergrads at MIT stretch their budgets, weather their first New England winter, and ace that job interview!
How do I donate?
- Donations can be mailed or brought to the League office at 10-342 any time throughout the year. The office is centrally located on campus and there is no parking lot nearby, but some on-street metered parking is available around the campus. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule your drop-off.
- If you're coming by car, or have a large donation, clothing can be donated at the MIT Furniture Exchange during their open hours. They have a customer parking lot.
If you’d like a receipt for tax purposes, please ask! We're happy to provide one. The Salvation Army has a useful donation value guide.
Where does my clothing go?
Fall Fashion Free-for-All
Each October the League hosts the Fall Fashion Free-for-All at which international students can find warm sweaters, interview suits, and even formal wear for springtime proms—all offered free of cost. We gladly accept your clean, gently used suits, ties, professional dresses, sweaters, winter outerwear, and springtime formalwear.
Year-Round Clothing Cube
In 2019 we opened the Clothing Cube, a free resource for students who have been referred by various support offices. Next time you declutter your closet, consider donating your clean, gently used clothing and accessories for the Clothing Cube.
How can I help further?
Got an eye for style? Volunteers sort and tag donations throughout the year and serve as fashion consultants at the Free-for-All. We're always looking for more helping hands. Please get in touch at 617-253-3656 or email@example.com.
