Event History

For more than 30 years, the Women’s League co-sponsored the Stratton Lecture on Successful Aging in honor of former MIT first lady and longtime league member Catherine M. Stratton. Mrs. Stratton, fondly known to her fellow league members as Kay, was an energetic part of the MIT community for more than 75 years. She initiated the series on 1988 to explore issues affecting the health and wellbeing of aging adults, and the Critical Issues series addressed challenges facing society.

A collaborative project of MIT Medical, the AgeLab, and the Women’s League, the Aging Successfully lecture brought together MIT researchers and experts for a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A.

This program went on hiatus during the 2020 pandemic.
