Offering a warm welcome, helping new arrivals to MIT, and broadening our horizons together—these have always been at the heart of the League’s mission. View our event calendar here.
Open House

Staff, students, post-docs, spouses, partners—whether you’re new to campus or new to the League, you are welcome at our fall Open House! Come meet other newcomers and get to know the MIT Women’s League. Held at the beginning of each academic year.
Details are posted on our Event Calendar and shared with our mailing list in early fall.
Special Interest Series

Our Special Interest Series features occasional, one-off events including talks, lectures, workshops, and informal social gatherings. Topics range from travel and the arts to creative practices such as Neurographica, as well as academic and research-based presentations. Each event is designed to spark curiosity and bring our community together.
We welcome proposals from individuals and groups with ideas they’d like to share. If you have a concept in mind, please get in touch!
Breakfast Lecture Series

Get the story behind the story from MIT women at the cutting edge of research. Join us for breakfast and an informal talk, and start your day with an extra dose of inspiration. Twice yearly in fall and spring.
Details are posted on our Events Calendar as speakers are confirmed.

English Conversation Classes

The Women’s League led English Conversation Classes for international MIT visitors from 1963-2023. This long-standing program was designed to help visitors make new friends, learn about other cultures, and become more confident speaking English. Due to changes in our demographic and a growth in English language class options available in Cambridge, our program was placed on hiatus in 2023. Our English Partner program continues, and you can find out more by reaching out to the program administrator, Kendel Jester.
Annual Meeting

The Women’s League Annual Meeting was last held on Thursday May 22, 2024, at noon. Invitations for our next annual meeting will go out in the spring of 2025.
Stratton Lecture Series

The Stratton Lecture brings together MIT’s leading reserachers to discuss the critical issues of the day.
The 2025 Stratton Lecture, The Epidemic of Loneliness, is coming up on Tuesday March 4th. Register here.
